EASA EBT rule update: what operators need to know for 2026

A summary of the key changes in the 2026 EASA evidence-based training regulatory update and how SkyDynamics tooling aligns with the revised requirements.

Key regulatory changes

The 2026 amendment refines grading taxonomy, clarifies mixed-EBT transition timelines, and introduces additional guidance on data-driven syllabus reviews. Operators already on a mixed-EBT programme have until Q4 2027 to incorporate the updated grading descriptors.

How AeroEBT supports compliance

AeroEBT's grading engine has been updated to reflect the revised competency descriptors and observable behaviours published in the latest Acceptable Means of Compliance. Training managers can map existing syllabi against the new descriptors using the built-in gap-analysis tool.

Next steps

We recommend operators review the updated EASA guidance material and schedule a syllabus gap review. SkyDynamics offers advisory support for operators planning their transition - reach out via the contact page.
