Training aircraft cockpit at a flight school

FSMS · Flight School Management System

Ab initio EBT and CBTA, with flight school management integrated.

Train with confidence. Manage with ease.

SkyDynamics FSMS puts the training first: EBT- and CBTA-aligned ab initio courses, MPL and Part-FCL, with competency marks on every lesson. A complete flight school management system is built around it, so the training schedule, the aircraft fleet, maintenance, flight simulators and financials run on one platform. Students get tools and data that stay with them, and your affiliated airlines see their cadets’ progress directly, on the same platform airlines use for Evidence-Based Training.

What is SkyDynamics FSMS?

SkyDynamics FSMS is ab initio EBT and CBTA training with a complete flight school management system integrated, on the same platform airlines use for Evidence-Based Training. Training comes first: Part-FCL courses from LAPL to ATPL, MCC and UPRT, with competency marks on every lesson. The management system around it runs the ATO end to end: scheduling of students, instructors, aircraft, FNPT II simulators and rooms; fleet management; aircraft maintenance management for schools with their own maintenance; financial management; safety and quality; records management; and a digital pilot logbook, in a web platform with portals for students and sponsoring airlines.

Because FSMS and AeroEBT share one platform, a cadet is enrolled once. Their logbook hours and training file follow them from PPL through CPL, SEP IR, MEP IR and MCC to type rating, line training and EBT recurrent at the airline, and the sponsoring airline can follow progress while they are still in training.

FSMS serves flight schools and ATOs and airlines running cadet programmes; maintenance training organisations use AeroEBT competency-based assessment for Part-147 and Part-66 training.

Eight areas of the school, one management platform.

Complete coverage

Everything a flight school runs, in one platform

EBT and CBTA training first, then everything around it. Nine areas that usually live in nine spreadsheets, each one a module in FSMS, working on the same data.

Management to micromanagement

From the owner’s board pack down to a single lesson

Every level of the school works on the same data, so the big picture and the detail never disagree.

  • Owner & accountable manager

P&L per client, cash and VAT, contracts and the board pack, without waiting for month end.

  • Head of training

Progress per student and course, stage gates, instructor currency and duty limits, safety and quality findings.

  • Operations & maintenance

Today’s schedule, aircraft and simulator availability, due items and open squawks on one board.

  • Instructor

The lesson plan, grading with competency marks and signatures: progress, logbook and invoice update from one entry.

  • Student

Next lesson, progress, balance, documents, exam results and a logbook that stays theirs.

  • Affiliated airline

Their cadets’ training progress, visible directly through the sponsor portal.

Evidence-Based Training starts at ab initio

One pilot, one record, from PPL to the airline.

Airlines run Evidence-Based Training in AeroEBT. FSMS runs the flight school on the same platform, so a cadet is enrolled once: their logbook hours, training file and progress follow them from the first lesson through CPL, IR and MCC to the airline that sponsors them, and the airline can watch that progress while the cadet is still at the school.

  • Training pathways for ab initio, sponsored cadet, conversion, MCC, type rating and recurrent
  • Lesson grading with competency marks, stage gates, solo authorisations, exams and skill tests
  • Logbook hours tied to the pilot, so they move from school to airline with no re-entry
  • Sponsor portal: airline partners see their cadets’ progress during training
  • On the roadmap: ab initio grades mapped to the nine ICAO competencies and carried into the AeroEBT competency history

Scheduling

Students, instructors, aircraft, FNPT devices and rooms booked together, with conflicts, instructor duty limits, currency and due maintenance checked before a slot is confirmed.

Step 1 of 7

Fleet and aircraft maintenance management

The aircraft and the simulator are the business.

An ATO lives or dies on availability. For schools with their own maintenance, FSMS keeps aircraft maintenance management and device serviceability in the same system as the training, so a due inspection or an open squawk shows up when the lesson is booked, not when the student is standing at the aircraft.

  • Hours ledger and landings for every aircraft and simulator
  • Work orders, squawks and maintenance records per aircraft
  • Airworthiness directives, service bulletins and component overhaul limits
  • Maintenance-programme due items flagged at booking
  • FNPT II and FTD qualification events, modifications and technical log
  • Release-to-service gate and Part-145 cost allocation

Financial management

Financials that follow the logbook.

When a flight is closed, it is already billable. Invoices, packages and contracts come from the training that actually happened, and the books leave FSMS in a form your accountant can use, not as a monthly spreadsheet someone has to rebuild.

  • Automatic invoicing driven by rate cards, packages and client contracts
  • Invoices, pro formas, advances, credit notes and client statements
  • Quotes and deposits, profit and loss per client, owner board pack
  • Instructor pay and payroll runs
  • Bank reconciliation, VAT periods and PEPPOL, CSV or XML accountant export

Pilot logbook and records management

The student’s logbook stays theirs, for their whole career.

Each student has a digital pilot logbook and a training file in the platform. Logbook hours are tied to the pilot rather than the school, so they can export them, take them to the airline and keep them long after they graduate. The school keeps its own signed training record, with every amendment traced, for as long as regulation requires.

  • Digital pilot logbook filled from each closed flight
  • Hours move with the pilot from school to airline, export at any time
  • Training file from enrolment through lessons and skill test to licence
  • Signed records with an amendment trail and audit log
  • Licences, medicals and documents with expiries
  • On the roadmap: a shareable training passport and a one-click training-file export pack

AI-assisted scheduling

FSMS: questions flight schools ask

SkyDynamics FSMS is ab initio EBT and CBTA training with a complete flight school management system integrated, for ATOs, flight schools and airline cadet programmes. It covers courses, scheduling, students, instructors, the aircraft fleet and FNPT II simulators, maintenance, finance, safety, records and the pilot logbook, in a web platform with student and sponsor portals.

FSMS runs on the same platform as AeroEBT. A cadet is enrolled once, their logbook hours and training file follow them to the airline, and the sponsoring airline can follow progress during training. Mapping ab initio lesson grades to the nine ICAO competencies and carrying them into the AeroEBT competency history is on the roadmap.

Yes, for schools with their own maintenance: work orders, squawks, AD/SB, component overhaul limits, maintenance-programme due items flagged at booking, a simulator technical log and a release-to-service gate.

Yes: automatic invoicing from rate cards, packages and contracts, credit notes and statements, quotes and deposits, instructor payroll, bank reconciliation, VAT periods, profit and loss per client, and PEPPOL, CSV or XML export for your accountant.

Yes. Logbook hours are tied to the pilot rather than the school, so they can be exported and carried to the airline. The school keeps its own signed training record for the retention period regulation requires.

Students use the student portal for their schedule, progress, balance, documents, exams and logbook. Instructors grade lessons in the platform. The offline iPad instructor app is used for airline EBT in AeroEBT.

Yes: programme design, manuals and consulting, EASA Part-FCL Subpart K.

Part-147 and Part-66 training is covered by AeroEBT competency-based assessment, with practical assessment recorded at the aircraft: see the maintenance training page.
